Thomas E. Gray, 75, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the Heartford House. He was born on November 14, 1938 in Livia, KY to the late Ellis Edward and Irene Agnes Wright Gray. Thomas retired from the Whirlpool Corp. with over 30 years of service. He was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years. He loved to travel and spend the winter months in Florida or Texas where he would comb the beach in search of sand dollars. Tom was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Greer.
He is survived by the love of his life, Elizabeth "Liz" Gray of 53 years, his daughter, Tammy Wedding and husband Bill of Philpot, along with two grandchildren, Blake and Sophie. Also surviving are sisters, Marion (Justice) Smith of Morrow, GA, Betty Williamson of Okemah, OK, and Janet (Steve) Dukes of Owensboro, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 2, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory officiated by Dr. James Wedding and Rev. Richard Shoup. Burial will follow in Yellow Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
