Thomas James Goetz

Thomas J. Goetz, 84, beloved husband and father of Owensboro, KY died on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at Owensboro Medical Health System. Mr. Goetz enjoyed conversing with his many friends; never met a stranger; and will be greatly missed by family members and friends. He was of the Catholic faith, a retired farmer and a veteran, serving his country for 10 years in the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged as Staff Sgt. on February 2, 1953 after serving in World War II and the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his father, Nick Goetz, mother, Bertha Goetz, four brothers, Martin, Albert, John and Norbert Goetz and a sister, Marie Goetz Allen.

He is survived by his wife, Anneliese, of 60 years marriage, a son, Thomas E. Goetz and daughter- in-law, Kathy Goetz of Rockport, a brother, Richard Goetz, two sisters, Nettie Watkins, Bettye McEuen, a sister-in-law, Esther Goetz, several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Services will be on Sunday, September 9, 2007 at 4:00 pm at the Glenn Funeral Home with the Hospice Chaplain, Rev. Allen Shouse officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 9, 2007 from 2 pm to 4 pm at Glenn Funeral Home.

The family requests that donations be made to Hospice or the organization of ones choice.
