Thomas S. Emmick, 78, of Owensboro, Kentucky died Sunday, June 21, 2009, at the Lee Moffett Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida. Mr. Emmick was the founder of Emmick Oil and Valor Oil, a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church, and served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Elizabeth Leigh Emmick and his son-in-law, Brett Harcourt.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Yvonne Spencer Emmick; children, Gary Emmick and his wife Lisa of Owensboro and Kathy Emmick Harcourt of Murray, KY; grandchildren, Josh Emmick (Sara), Lauren Emmick, Sam Wilson and Joe Paul Wilson; great-grandchildren, Coady Wilson, Avery Wilson and Kylar Emmick; brothers, Roy Leigh Emmick (Ann) and Jimmy Emmick (Nelda) and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday at noon in the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
