Thomas E. Collignon

Thomas E. Collignon, 74, of Owensboro died Saturday, September 10, 2011, at his home in Owensboro, Kentucky. Tom was born in Owensboro to the late Robert M. and Theresa (Wink) Collignon. Tom was a member of the Owensboro Catholic High School Class of 1955 and the Army Reserve. He retired from Green River Steel Corporation in 1999 after 33 years of service and was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church. He enjoyed all types of sports (especially Atlanta Braves baseball and the University of Kentucky basketball) but his avid love was NASCAR.

Tom is survived by a son and daughter in law, Randy S. and Melissa R. Collignon; granddaughters, Taylor Elizabeth and Victoria Faith Collignon, all of Smyrna, Tennessee; two sisters, Margie Logsdon and husband James of Livermore, Kentucky, Betty Hamilton and husband Wayne of Owensboro; a brother, Louis Collignon and wife Margie of Littleton, Colorado; six nephews and and six nieces.
He was preceded in death by infant sister, Mary Ann Collignon and son, Thomas A. Collignon.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at St. Martin's Catholic Church. Fr. Maury Riney will officiate. Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday and from 8:30 until 9:15 AM on Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Western Kentucky at 3419 Wathens Crossing Owensboro, KY 42301 or St. Vincent de Paul at 1848 Triplett St Owensboro, KY 42303-3858 .
