Thomas Jacob Beumel, 77, of Owensboro, Kentucky, died Friday, August 17, 2001 at his home. Born in Gatchel, Perry County, Indiana, on February 5, 1924, he was the son of the late Walter John Beumel and Bessie Lawalin Beumel.
A member of Seven Hills Baptist Church, he was a Korean War Veteran awarded the Purple Heart and 2 Bronze Stars. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and a photographer in the Army and was a former foreman at General Electric. He also owned
A&L Market and was a charter member of the Model Railroad Club.
He is survived by his spouse of 50 years, Anna Lois Vance Beumel; a son, Kevin Thomas Beumel of Taft, California; a brother, Walter Lee
Beumel of Christney, Indiana; and seven nieces and nine nephews.
Friends may call at the Glenn Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 19 and again after 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 20. The funeral service for Mr. Beumel will be held 11:30 a.m. Mondday, August 20, in Glenn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery's Garden of Valor.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Seven Hills Baptist Church Building Fund.
