Theresa Ann Ward

Theresa Ann Hayden Ward, 78, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the Carmel Home with all of her children at her side. She was born on July 27, 1935 in Owensboro to the late William and Thelma Hayden. She was the 7th of 14 children. Theresa was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church and the proud mother of 13 children whom she loved and adored.

Theresa thoroughly enjoyed catching up on the news and EWTN Catholic Network, watching professional tennis, U. K. basketball , and, of course, snacking on 3 Musketeer candy bars and a Diet Rite. Theresa had eight daughters and five sons, who loved her very much and cared for her as she became sick in her last few years. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Ward in 1976.

Theresa is survived by her children, Susan Green (Chuck) , Bobby Ward and the late Mary Ann, Holly Askin (Robert), Scott Ward, David Ward (Debbie), Michael Ward (Debby), Leanne Murphy (Scott), Nancy Arnold (Keith), Julie Murphy (Keith) Kathy Lanham (Brad), Carolyn Hume (Pat), and John Ward (Angela), all of Owensboro, and Tracy Ward (Kevin) of Santa Claus, IN

Also surviving are six siblings, Richard Hayden of Owensboro, Charlotte Burch of Evansville, IN, Thelma Jo McGowen of Las Vegas, and Donald Hayden, Sue Hayden, and Jane Cloud, all of Louisville, 35 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be at 12 Noon Thursday, January 16, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with Father Richard Cash officiating. Burial will follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 10:00 A.M. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Prayers will be said at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the exceptional care and compassion shown to their mom and to the family by the Carmelite Sisters and Staff.
