Thelma Elizabeth Newcom Thurman

Thelma Elizabeth Newcom Thurman, 83, passed away Friday, November 14, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. For over fifty years, she enjoyed dealing in antiques and was an avid bowler, being a member of WIBC participating in the Early Bird and Senior Citizens leagues.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Earl Buford Thurman, in 1992, and a son-in-law, Robert W. Webb, Sr. in 1999.

Two daughters and a son-in-law, Saundra Thurman Webb of Owensboro and L.D. and Barbara Thurman Butler of Marietta, GA; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Margaret Thurman and Rick and Jennifer Thurman, both of Owensboro; grandchildren and their spouses, David and Sonja Webb Beattie, Rob and Ann Webb, Eric and Lesley Thurman, Jeremy and Sarah Thurman Raines, Blake Butler, Morgan Butler, Jessica Thurman, and Hallie Thurman; great-grandchildren, Lucas Beattie, Erin Beattie, Andrew Webb, Allison Webb, Susannah Webb, Polly Thurman, and Lucy Raines; and a brother, Archie Ray Newcom, survive her.

Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home, where visitation will be from 1 until 8 p.m. Monday and after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Bellevue Baptist Church Building Fund.
