Thelma "Genie" Prescott
November 28, 1925 — March 30, 2018
Genie Hardesty McMillian Prescott was born on November 28, 1925 and has gone to be with her Lord March 30, 2018.
She has been reunited in heaven with her parents, James Michael and Alberta Hardesty; her husbands, Joseph Patrick McMillian and Chester Clyde Prescott; her son, James McMillian; and her brothers and sisters Dennis, Charles, Fred, Edward, Mildred, and Martha.
Genie will be greatly missed by her children Charlene (Ken) McMillian Sawyer, Bill McMillian and Barb(Dale) Prescott; a niece, Charlotte "Charlie" (Alan) Sims, with whom she enjoyed a mother and daughter relationship; her grandchildren Jerry (Alyssa), Danny, Mathew, Liz (Kenner), David, Jenny, Aimee (Brian), Robb (Jenn) and David (Beth); Jim's wife, Teresa; her 10 great-grandchildren; her brother Bill and his wife Carolyn; and her sisters-in-law Florence and Opal.
She leaves behind her very special friend Gerald Bronson and many nieces and nephews. There are close friends and many others who have touched her life and been touched by her in St. Louis, MO where she lived for many years, in Harlingen, TX and in Owensboro, KY.
Her elegance, charm, and generosity were such a part of who she was and will be missed by all who knew her.
The funeral Mass for Genie, officiated by the Rev. Carl McCarthy, will be at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. Monday with prayers at 5:30 Monday. A service of committal and burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, St. Ann, MO.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Western Kentucky.
