Thelma Anna Johnson Loyd

Thelma Anna Johnson Loyd, 92, of Glasgow (formerly of Owensboro) passed away Thursday, August 28, 2008 at her home. Born November 30, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Ellis and Myrtle Jolly Johnson; was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church; and retired from Owensboro Daviess County Hospital where she was an assistant dietician. She was preceded in by her husband of 60 years, Benny Loyd in 1995, and a son-in-law, Jim Gilbert.
She is survived by her children Sue Gilbert of Glasgow and Billy (and Joyce) Loyd of Hopkinsville; grandchildren, Vivian Woodcock, Kasandra Pedigo, and Mark Loyd; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Glenn Funeral Home followed by burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday and after 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Trinity United Methodist Church.
