Thelma Viola Pate Handy

Thelma Viola Pate Handy, passed away Monday, June 26, 2006 at 2712 Old Hartford Road, Owensboro, Kentucky. Ms. Handy was born in Cloverport, Kentucky, was a member of Third Baptist church and had retired from GE. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Matthews Handy in 1963.

Survivors include a step-son Herman Handy of Louisville; nieces, Linda Garrett, Janet Brown, Charlotte OReilly, Ruth Pate, Anna Koester, Donna Marina, Virginia Basham, Ruby Moad, Mary Lois Irwin, Joyce Carpenter, Colleen Buck, Carolyn Duke, Shirley Hook and Sharon Shelman; a nephew, Charles Limer; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; Dr. James Byrd will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and after 8:30 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cloverport Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice or the Alzheimers Association.
