Thelma Roberts Cox

Thelma Roberts Cox, 81, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at her home. She was born in Lewisport, Kentucky to the late George C. and Mayme Patterson Roberts.

Mrs. Thelma retired from Ragu after many years of service. She was of the Baptist faith and loved spending time with family. In her spare time, she really enjoyed growing and arranging flowers around the house and yard. On the lighter side- she also enjoyed scratch-off lottery tickets. Thelma will be dearly missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, John T. Cox; three sisters; and a brother.

Thelma is survived by her sons, John R. Cox and Scott W. Cox (Yvonne) of Owensboro; seven grandchildren, Bailey Cox, Scott Jacob Cox, Drew Murray (Brie), Megan Young, Jessica Sowders, Hannah Cox and Brianna Cox; seven great grandchildren, Aiden, Benton, Gunner, Lane, Silas, Averi and Grace; and a sister, Hazel Mattingly.

The visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 2:30 PM, Friday, September 11 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. A brief graveside ceremony will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
