Thelma Boling Brown

September 25, 1929 — June 4, 2018

Thelma Brown, 88, of Owensboro died Monday June 4, 2018 at her home under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Mrs. Brown was born September 25, 1929 in Reynolds Station to the late Jesse and Verona Butler Boling. After receiving her high school diploma, Thelma married her fellow classmate, Russell Brown and began raising a family. While her children were still young, she went to work for General Electric receiving a security clearance to help manufacture satellite and missile guidance components. Retiring from there after 43 years. Thelma was a reserved lady who could always be counted on and was known as a good seamstress and cook. She loved her family but could call her grandkids down when needed. A fan of UK basketball, she also tolerated going to NASCAR races with her husband and rooted for Darrell Waltrip as her favorite driver. Thelma was a long time and faithful member of Breckinridge Street UMC and attended the Lula Townsley Sunday School class for many years.

Mrs. Brown was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell Brown, in 2008; brother, Norman Boling; three sisters, Lowena Boling and two infant sisters; son-in-law, Darrell Henry.
