Thelma Sue Smith Bennett

Thelma Sue Bennett, 90, of Owensboro, died Sunday, November 11, 2012, at Twin Rivers Nursing Home. She was born in Owensboro to the late John Allen and Viola Thelma Truman Smith. Thelma sue retired from W.R. Grace, was a Kentucky Colonel and was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church since 1931 where she had been a member of the Mary Lou Phillips Sunday School Class, served on the commission of Education and the Administrative Board, and was the secretary for her Sunday school class for over 30 years. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James A. (Buster) Bennett in 1958.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday in the chapel of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky or to Settle Memorial United Methodist Church Mary Lou Phillips Sunday school Class.
