Terry R. Gist

Terry R. Gist, 72, of Owensboro, passed away Monday May 12, 2025, while at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born November 11, 1952, in Daviess County, to the late Christopher and Effie Lee Spurrier Gist. Terry worked for Central Bank and Trust, National City Bank, and as a cashier for Walmart. He enjoyed most all sports from high school level on up, but especially football and basketball.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by both sets of his grandparents.

Terry is survived by his wife of nearly 52 years, Judy Hornsby Gist; a daughter, Martha Gist; a son, Robert (Sarah) Gist; and two twin grandchildren, Isabella and Kal Gist.

The funeral service for Terry will be private at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. The burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
