Ted Peveler, Jr. died Monday May 18, 2015 surrounded by his family. Born in Muhlenberg County, Ky., to the late Ted and Opal Morris Peveler, Mr. Peveler graduated from Daviess County High School, served in the Korean conflict, and was adjutant of the John F. Pearl Amvets Post 119. Ted was a member of Third Baptist Church since 1935 where he served as deacon and served on several committees. He and his wife, Jackie Barnett Peveler, were looking forward to celebrating 62 years of marriage in June.
Mr. Peveler is also survived by his daughter, Sherry Peveler Lee (Stephen); son, Ted Peveler III (Denise); grandchildren, Samuel Lee (Kelsey), Jacob Lee, Katharine Lee, and Jaclyn Peveler; great-granddaughter, Blakely Elaine Rapp; sister, Beverly Peveler Northen (Ned), and two nephews.
Ted attended Kentucky Wesleyan College and UK College of Agriculture. He worked many years for Moorman Feed Co. and Stull Seed Co. Captain Ted was dock master of the Owensboro Marina living aboard his 38 foot ferro-cement sailboat, the Dur Travail that he constructed. He retired as Director of Maintenance for Audubon Area Community Services.
His hobbies were horticulture and gourmet cooking.
Service will be Noon Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Third Baptist Church in memory of Ted Peveler.
