Tammy Jo Grigsby

Tammy Jo Grigsby, 46, of 4839 King Rd., Philpot, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Bedford, In. on August 22, 1961. She had worked at Unilever Best Foods for 10 years and the Daviess Co. School System. She had been attending Owensboro Christian Church and had just rededicated her life to Jesus Christ on Sunday, August 10. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and cooking for them, and was very proud of all her family. She also enjoyed raising flowers, reading, swimming, and working. She also loved all types of animals, having three pets of her own. She was a person who never met a stranger. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles David Gerkin on Dec. 26, 1981 and her grandparents, Paul and Mary Harris of Mitchell, In.

Surviving are husband of 31 years, Danny Grigsby, two daughters, Jessica Grigsby and Danielle Johnson and husband Bay, all of Owensboro, her mother, Shirley Gerkin Haynes of Owensboro, five grandchildren, Brittany and Tyren Johnson, Austin Boarman, and Kelsey and Braxton Grigsby, a brother, Dave Gerkin and wife Carrie of Philpot, a sister, Debbie Ray and husband Richard of Philpot, mother-in-law, Theresa Grigsby of Owensboro, nieces and nephews, Katie Jo Grigsby, Heather Ray, Richie Ray, Brandon and Adam Grigsby, and David Michael Gerkin, one great nephew, Dakota Jones, and a brother-in-law, Rick Grigsby and wife Kathy of Philpot, and a sister-in-law, Sharon Hakim of California.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 18, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-7:00 P.M. Sunday and after 10:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
