Suzanne M. Wood

Suzanne (Suzette) Wood "Mopsy", 86, of Owensboro passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2012 at Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Chicago, IL on January 4, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Jane Estes Klugman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, William T. Alden (West Chicago, IL) and George L. Wood (Santa Barbara, CA). Mrs. Wood was involved in the full time Christian ministry and had worked as a professional vocalist, radio talk show host, and beauty consultant columnist. She enjoyed driving her yellow "tweety-bird" car and loved animals, flowers and playing cards with close friends. Her classy dress and beautiful smile will be missed!

Surviving are her children, Dr. Patrick (Rita) Alden of West Chester, IL, Billie Sue Alden (Wayne) Boultinghouse of Owensboro, Dr. John (Denise) Alden of Lamar, MO, and Mike (Roxanne) Alden of Columbia, MO; grandchildren, Laura Dahl of Brookfield, IL, Carol Sue Marczak of West Chicago, IL, Alden Washam of Clovis, Ca, Gentry Taylor of Clovis, Ca, Abigail Vowels of Owensboro, Michael Patrick Alden of Lamar, MO, and Jake Alden of Columbia, MO; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services are 6 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2208 Tamarack, Owensboro, KY 42301. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
