Susan Kay Atherton

Susan Kay Atherton, 76, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025 at her home. She was born November 24, 1948 to the late Chester and Nora Augenstein. Susan was retired from Swedish Match, loved spending time with her family and loved all cats. She also enjoyed the music of the Bon Jovi band, reading, watching horror movies, and painting on canvas. Susan was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Wardrip and a sister, Nancy Youngblood.

Surviving are a son, Charles J. “Jim” Schooler III and wife Debbie of Louisville, a daughter, Cynthia Kay Schooler of Owensboro; seven grandchildren, Mitchell Schooler, Wesley Schooler (Jia), Nora Wardrip, Emily Wardrip, April Williams (Christopher), Stevie Schooler, and Stephanie Schooler; and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Friday, March 28, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
