Sue Hamilton Whitaker

Sue Hamilton Whitaker, 82, of Owensboro passed away April 15, 2016 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born May 14, 1933 in Wilson County, Tennessee to the late Roy and Fairy Keaton Hamilton. Mrs. Whitaker was a beloved wife and mother who was a member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church but played the piano for many years while attending Seven Hills Baptist Church. She will be remembered as having a great sense of humor, being an excellent cook and baker, and crocheting many afghans.

Mrs. Whitaker was also preceded in death by her daughter, Roberta Sue Whitaker in 1960; brother, Rob Roy Hamilton in 1965; infant twin sister, Mary Lou Hamilton; sister Jean Nichols.

Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Bob Whitaker; daughters, Ann Duncan and husband Herman of Owensboro and Lynn Ellis of Atlanta; sister, Sara Gaither; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The service will be 2:00 PM Monday, April 18 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with the Rev. Franklin Skaggs officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 till 2:00. Burial will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
