Sue Carolyn Van Fleet, 85, of Owensboro passed away peacefully Friday June 22, 2018 under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Mrs. VanFleet was born August 6, 1932 in Pleasant Ridge (Daviess Co.) to the late Carroll and Lucy Wade. She was also preceded in death by the loves of her life, her husband, Bobby Van Fleet and daughter, Janice (Jan) Van Fleet Mulligan. Sue was a member of Third Baptist Church. She graduated from the former Tech High School in Owensboro and was employed at K-Mart (formerly Grants). Sue's most important job was as caregiver for her mom, daughter, mother-in-law, aunt, uncle, and friends which she did with grace, love, and without complaining. She enjoyed cooking, visiting friends, shopping, and was an avid UK fan. She was well known for her kindness to others, her big smile, and loyalty to her friends who will always remember her wonderful cakes and beautiful handwriting.
Those left to cherish her memory include her cousin and special caregiver, Mary Pat Donlon and husband Dee of Hartford; cousin, Jim Williams and wife Eunice; son-in-law, Carl Mulligan; beloved cat, Merry; several cousins and many loved friends.
Services will be 11:00 am Tuesday June 26 at Third Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Williams and Rev. Micah Spicer officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 till 11:00 am at the church. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
