Sue Fuchs

Sue Fuchs, 64, of Hawesville, Ky., died Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Owensboro Medical Health System. Sue was born in Owensboro to the late Perry and Mildred Marie (Woodring) Cowan. She graduated from Owensboro High School and attended Brescia College. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, an active member of the choir, an elder and trustee of the church. She was the former owner of the Riverview Restaurant in Hawesville, and was presently the general manager of Fern Terrace Homes. She had worked at Hancock County Bank, and Owensboro National Bank. She was a Veterans Administration Advocate in Hancock County, and volunteered for the Rape Crisis Center. She had a consignment booth at Trader Bakers, and was an avid doll collector who had just been elected vice-president of the Evansville Doll Club. She was an animal lover who worked with the Spay A Stray organization.

Surviving are her brother; Dave (Cathy) Cowan of Maceo, sisters; Evadine Cowan (Larry) Render of Owensboro, and Judith Cowan (William) Beckman of Erwin, TN., four nieces and 5 nephews, several grand nieces and nephews, and her beloved animals.

Sue's family invites all of her friends to join the family Saturday, March 21, 2009 at First Presbyterian Church in Owensboro for a celebration of her life at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Friends will be received at Glenn Funeral Home Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. There will be visitation at the church at 9 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Spay A Stray or to First Presbyterian Church.
