Sue B. Austin, 62, of 4020 King Road, Philpot, died Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was a native of Daviess County, born to the late Lafe Bruner, and Margaret (Collier) Bruner Hemingway. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and the Class of Love Sunday School Class. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and spending time with her family, Kentucky basketball games and trips with her Sunday school class.
Mrs. Austin was also preceded in death by a step-father Rufus Hemingway, sister Pat Bozman and a brother, Jerry Bruner.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, John D. Austin Sr., daughter Jane Austin Garrison and husband, Jeff, son John D. Austin Jr.and wife Kimberly, daughter Jill Austin Curcio and husband John, step-son, Kenneth J. Austin and wife Gaynelle, grandchildren, Samantha Austin, John D. Austin III, Victoria Austin, Blake Garrison, Shane Haire, Kaitlyn Austin, and Jacey Curcio, all of Owensboro, two sisters, Jean (Richard) Skaggs of Utica, Martha (Dan) Pagan of Murfreesboro, TN., step-brother, C.R. Tip Hemingway of Utica, and a brother-in-law, George Bozman of Owensboro, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2006 at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve James officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, and after 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Macedonia Baptist Church Building Fund, and expressed online at www.glennfuneralhome.com.
