Sue Kirk Anderson

Sue Kirk Anderson, 95, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Heartford House. She was born on June 16, 1918 in Daviess Co. to the late William and Shirley Kirk. Sue was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her flower bed. She was a member of Third Baptist Church for 61 years, where she served in various ministries. Some of these include teaching Sunday School, volunteering for the nursery and being a part of the WMU. She loved baseball, UK basketball, animals, walking, but most of all, her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Joseph Autry Anderson, infant daughter Shirley Joyce Anderson, Brother, William Otis Kirk Jr. and Sister, Ann Ulmer Husk.

Sue is survived by Daughters Jackie Wells (late Roy Dene), Jean Anderson Snyder and Cheryl Lynn Bruner (late Elbert). Seven Grandchildren, Vickie Wells, Phillip Wells, Melody Hayden, LaDonna Douglas, Michelle Carrico, Byron Bruner and Erika Hall. Eleven Great-Grandchildren, Jason Claypool, Jenny Hosley, Camille Hayden, Chris Hayden, Krysten Douglas, Taylor Douglas, Garrett Douglas, Bradley Carrico, Morgan Carrico, Haley Hall, Rachel Bruner and one Great-Great Grandchild, Christina Sue Claypool.

Services will be noon Wednesday February 5, 2014 at Third Baptist Church with Dr. James Byrd presiding. Visitation will be Tuesday 1:00-7:00p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and Wednesday after 10:00a.m. at Third Baptist Church. Burial will take place in Bethabara Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be given in Sue Anderson's name to Third Baptist Church and the Heartford House. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
