Stuart J. "Oz" Aldridge, 96, of Owensboro, died Friday, November 30, 2012 at his home. He was born in Owensboro, December 2, 1915 to the late John William and Minnie Mae ( Teasley ) Aldridge. He was a retired auto mechanic teacher at Daviess County Vocational School, and was a member of Third Baptist Church, where he taught the Berean Sunday School class. He was a member of Gideons International and the Owensboro Retired Teachers Association. His wife, Hannah Nelson Aldridge preceded him in death in 2005, as well as a daughter, Judith Ann Wilkerson in 1972.
Mr. Aldridge is survived by a daughter, Barbara Sue Wells of Owensboro, two grandchildren, Thomas Wheatley of Kerrville, TX, and Richard D. Wheatley of Houston, TX and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2012 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. James Byrd officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Monday. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Third Baptist Church General Fund. Online condolences may be left at www.glennfuneralhome.com.
