Stoy Franklin Butler, 76, of Utica, died Monday, January 18, 2010 at his home. He was born in Breckenridge County to the late, Frank and Maggie (Cahill) Butler. He was a retired farmer, a member of Laborer Union # 1392, and a Army Veteran. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and his dogs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Eugene Butler, and a son, Robert Sumner.
Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Wanda (Galbreath) Butler, his children, Brenda (Bill) Berry of Owensboro, Layton (Beverly) Sumner, and Mike Sumner of Central City, and Patricia (Ceaser) Duarte of Hartford, a brother, R.A. Butler of Utica, and sisters, Freida (Bud) Haire of Reed and Rosa Agnes (Wallie) Wood of Greenville, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. J.W. Haire officiating. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 10 a.m. Thursday.
