Stirman Fulkerson, 82, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Signature Health Care---Hillcrest. He was born June 1, 1933 in Daviess Co. to the late Raymond and Beulah Crowe Fulkerson. Stirman was retired after 28 years with I.B.M. in Lexington as an electrical engineer. He was a member of Hall Street Baptist and a U. S. Army veteran. Stirman had served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher in several churches over the years. He was a graduate of the University of Evansville and was an avid reader and U.K. basketball fan. He was also preceded in death by a stepmother, Nellie Fulkerson and a brother, Jackie Beasley.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Hazel Jolly Fulkerson, a brother, Russell Fulkerson and wife Janet of Macon, GA, two sisters, Gail Lowe of Cold Springs, KY and Dortha Wade of Illinois, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Noon Monday, January 18, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday and after 10:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
