Steven Earl "Bubby" Shown

Steven Earl “Bubby” Shown, 66, of Owensboro, passed away Saturday, October 24, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Born December 2, 1959, Steve will be remembered as a kind and caring man whose memory will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Steve was a proud father of his son, Travis Shown. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially fishing, UK basketball, and NASCAR racing.

After many years of dedicated work, Steve retired from Bimbo Bakeries. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved friend, Bonnie, and his cherished pet, “Dawg,” who was a special companion in his life.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Betty Shown, and his brothers, Ronnie, Billy, Mike, and Joe Shown.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Travis Shown; sisters, Elaine Miller of Owensboro, Brenda Hicks (Dick) of Maceo, Sandra Stinnett (Bruce) of Maceo, and Beverly Miller of Owensboro; as well as his brother, Kevin Shown (Susan) of Seabring, FL.

Those who knew Steve will remember his gentle, caring nature and the many cherished memories he created with those around him. His love, kindness, and warm spirit will remain with his family and friends always.

A Farewell from His Siblings: Rest easy, brother. You will always be loved, forever missed, and never forgotten. Until we meet again.
