Steven Bruce Powers

Steven Bruce Powers, 44, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at the home of his brother. He was born November 16, 1963, to Melvin and Nell Childress Powers in Daviess County. He was employed at the Executive Inn for 26 years, and he enjoyed NASCAR, football, wrestling, watching ESPN and being with his family, especially his children.

He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Powers, a sister, Sherry Powers Sheehan, and a brother, Rodney Lee Powers.

Survivors include his wife, Tina Powers; three children, Travis Allen Powers, Chloe Elizabeth Powers, and Christian Wayne Sherfield, all at home; his mother, Nell Powers of Owensboro; a brother, Melvin (Debbie) Powers of Owensboro, three sisters, Rebecca (Becky) and (Charlie) Goodaker, Donna (Lamar) Cannon, and Elizabeth (Joe) Harper, all of Owensboro; 13 nieces and nephews, 7 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services will be 11:00 AM Friday at Owensboro Memorial Gardens with burial following. Visitation will be 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Friday at the Cemetery.
