Steven Jean DeWitt, 63, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at his home. Born August 30, 1951 in Springfield, MO, he was a son of the late Billie Wayne and Betty Jean DeWitt. Steve was the former owner of DeWitt's Jewelry, a member of Lewis Lane Baptist Church, and a former board member of the Owensboro Downtown Christmas Parade. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and gardening.
Surviving are his sons Heath (Brandi) DeWitt and Drew (Markie) DeWitt, all of Owensboro; four grandchildren, Sydney, Tatum, Weston and Houston; four brothers, Mike (Daris) DeWitt of Henderson, David (Becky) DeWitt, of Suwanee, and Jamie (Penney) DeWitt and Benji (Angie) DeWitt, all of Owensboro; three sisters Marilyn (Paul) Riney and Lisa (Kevin) Kanable, all of Owensboro, and Holly DeWitt of Weston, FL; 18 nieces and nephews and 19 great nieces and nephews.
Services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Private burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Steven Jean DeWitt Memorial Fund, c/o 900 Old Hartford Road, Owensboro, KY 42303.
