Steve McCarty, 59, of Curdsville, died Friday, March 25, 2016 at the University of Louisville Hospital. He was born in Daviess County to Louis McCarty and Jean Towery McCarty and was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Steve enjoyed gardening, home improvements, watching old western shows, country cruising, UK Wildcat basketball, cooking burgoo and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis McCarty and his nephew, Corbin McCarty.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Laquita McCarty; sons, Joshua McCarty (Betty Boyd) and Isaac McCarty (Heather); daughter, Emily Ayers (Chris) all of Owensboro; his mother, Jean McCarty; brothers, Doug McCarty (Jean), Tom McCarty (Pam), Hugh McCarty, Rick McCarty (Cathy), Father Bruce McCarty, and Lee Joe McCarty (Brandy); sisters, Marion Winstead (David), Joyce Clary, Diane Haynes (David), Janice Brett (John) and Theresa Payne (Billy); granddaughters, Mackenzie Ayers, Shelbee Ayers, Alexa Wilson and Alea McCarty; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at Noon on Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, prayers will be said at 6 p.m. Burial will be in St. Raphael Cemetery.
