Stephen "Steve" Joseph Clark, 55, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018 at his residence. He was born January 12, 1963, in Owensboro, to Cotton Clark and the late Barbara Gilles Clark. Stephen graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School in 1981 and he worked as a carpenter doing home improvement for many years.
He enjoyed playing golf and was well known for his Jeopardy skills, where he seemed to always know every answer. Steve will always have his name immortalized on a plaque at Southern Little League, where he was a pitcher on the 1975 Little League State Championship team. Another thing that he was known for was his singing and dancing skills that started at an early age, and he was still able to perform the "Steve Clark Dance" for everyone to enjoy.
Along with his mother, Barbara Gilles Clark, he also was preceded in death by two sons, Alex Clark and Nicholas Riney; and all four of his grandparents.
Steve is survived by his daughters, Whitney Johnson and her husband, Blake, and Christina Dowdle; a son, Eric Neal Clark and Sarah Burgess; father and stepmother, Cotton Clark and Sandra Clark; four brothers, Larry Clark, Nick Clark and his wife, Tara, Johnny Clark, and Brian Clark and his wife, Karen; two granddaughters, Ella Johnson and Carleigh Neal; two grandsons, Devin and Aiden Neal; several nieces and nephews; also, his employer and very good friend, Alan Payne.
A memorial service will be 2 PM Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Glenn Funeral Home Crematory with Father Mike Clark officiating. Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 10 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
