Stephen "Stevie" Lewis Fielding, 77, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 24, in the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born August 6, 1940 in Evansville, IN to the late George E. Fielding and Anna Iona Smith. He retired from Western KY Gas and ATMOS Energy after 31 years of service. He was a long time member of the Pleasant Point Missionary Baptist Church, Pleasant Ridge, KY.
Stevie was an avid UK basketball fan. Above all, he loved all the people he met during his lifetime. Stevie was a very special person God put on this Earth to teach us how to be patient and kind to each other. He touched a lot of lives with treasured memories, the kind that last forever.
Mr. Fielding was preceded in death by his "adoptive Dad" and caregiver, Bruce Coffey.
He is survived by his "adoptive Mom" and caregiver, Nina Coffey, and a host of friends and acquaintances.
Stevie would want to express special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at DAVITA Dialysis Center of Owensboro. Without their loving care he would not have survived the last 22 years. He would also want to thank the nurses and staff at Twin Rivers Nursing and Rehab, and the wonderful care of Hospice.
Services will be 12 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pleasant Point Church Cemetery, Pleasant Ridge. Rev. Rhondalyn Randolph will officiate the services.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Pleasant Point Missionary Baptist Church or Hospice of Western KY.
