Stephen Choya Burcham

Stephen "Choya" Burcham, 64, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2016, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born September 6, 1951 in Daviess Co., KY. Choya was a Master Electrician and electrical contractor and the owner of Choya's Electric. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and was a U. S. Air Force veteran. He was a former building inspector for the City of Owensboro and a member of the Homebuilders Association. Choya enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, U. K. basketball, and playing ping pong. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Froehlich Burcham in March of 2014.

Surviving are his children, sons Clint (Vanessa) Burcham of Owensboro and Craig (Sarah) Burcham of Jeffersonville, IN, daughters, Chanda (Cody) Bender of Owensboro and Molly Teague of Louisville. Other survivors include his father, L. K. Burcham of Owensboro, his fiancé Kim Danks, four grandchildren, Landon Burcham of Owensboro, Michael Teague of Louisville, and Abbigail and Samantha Burcham, both of Jeffersonville, IN, and a great grandchild, Liam Teague of Louisville. Also surviving are his sisters, Kay (Mark) Rountree of Louisville and Kelly (Brian) Hedges of Owensboro, brothers, Ricky (Betty) Burcham, Kim (Sonja) Burcham, Kenny Burcham, and Kevin (Tammy) Burcham, all of Owensboro, and Barry (Joanna) Burcham of Pleasant View, TN, and his fiance's children, Jerrod Allen, Lauren Danks Allen, and Will Danks, all of Beaver Dam, and grandchildren, Sean Danks and MaKenna Allen, both of Beaver Dam.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 16, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Friday with prayers at 7:00 P.M. and from 9:00-10:15 A.M. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
