Stephen L. Breeden

Stephen L. Breeden, 63, of Owensboro died on June 13, 2013 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He was born in the Effingham, IL area to the late Lewis and Pauline Breeden.

Stephen earned a degree in Civil Engineering from University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He worked as an engineering project estimator for Day & Zimmerman NPS, based out of Lancaster, PA.

Stephen was a member of Effingham Masonic Lodge #149. He was 32nd Degree in the Scottish Rite of Dallas, Texas. He was also a member of Ainad Shiners in East St. Louis, Illinois.

SL loved being outdoors; he enjoyed spending time at The Barn in Ohio County and off road adventures in his Jeep. He was a past member of the PA Jeep Club. Most of all, he was a proud father of three sons and Grampy to six grandchildren.

Stephen is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Ann and his three sons, Lewis Wertman Breeden II (Dana) of Owensboro, David Breeden (Crystal) of Columbus, IN and Walter Breeden (Julie) of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Briley, Jacob, Tenzin, Lincoln, Stephen, and Maggie Breeden; sisters, Susan Askew of Cobden, IL and Carol Leeper (Charles "Ike") of Niantic, IL; and nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Monday, June 17 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. The Ensor Masonic Lodge #729 will conduct services at this time. Burial will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-5 PM at the funeral home.
