Stanley Joseph Hasselbrinck

Stanley Joseph Hasselbrinck, 47, of Hwy 764 North, Whitesville, died Saturday, June 21, 2008, at his home. He was born August 28, 1960 in Evansville, IN. He graduated from Reitz High School in 1979 and went to work for RGIS Inventory and continued for 26 years. He later worked for Houchen's Industries, IBC (Hostess), where he worked with the greatest bunch of fellow employees. Stan was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Whitesville, was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, but enjoyed all sports. He also loved playing cards and board games with his two oldest grandsons, Scott and Joseph Wheatley. He also loved holding the rookie grandson, Isaac Roach on his lap and putting his cardinal hat on him. Stan always had a sense of humor and used his laughter as his best medicine.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Samatha Taylor Roach in 2000.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Howard Hasselbrinck; three step-children, Larry Cave, Jr. of Owensboro, Tricia (Brent) Bell of Curdsville, and Sarah (Adam) Roach of Philpot; six grandchildren, Scott Wheatley, Joseph Wheatley, Brooklyn, Bradley, and Jacob Yeckering, all of Owensboro, Isaac Roach of Philpot; his parents, Paul and Marlene Hasselbrinck of Evansville, IN; his brothers, Steve Hasselbrinck of Merritt Island, FL, Scott Hasselbrinck of Chandler, IN, his sisters, Sherry Hasselbrinck of Evansville, IN and Susan Weis of Mt. Vernon, IN.

Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, conducted by Rev. David Johnson, with burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 PM Monday, with prayers at 7:00 PM at Glenn Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Activity Center at Bishop Soenneker Home, 9545 Hwy 144, Philpot, KY 42366.
