Sonja Renae Gupton Cardwell

Sonja Renae Gupton Cardwell, 62, of Owensboro passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018 at her home. Born in Muhlenberg County on September 8, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Shirley Thompson Lee. Mrs. Cardwell worked for the Daviess County Public Schools where she was a teacher's aide at River Valley. She attended Owensboro Christian Church and enjoyed traveling to Flea Markets and garage sales and quilting. Mrs. Cardwell was a loving mother and grandmother who loved caring for her family, especially her granddaughter, Sadie, who was the light of her life. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cardwell was preceded in death by a brother, Greg Lee.

Surviving are her husband, Donnie Cardwell; sons, Ryan (Tiffany) Roby of Owensboro and James Roby of Mt Juliet, TN; step-children, Amanda Cardwell and Brad Cardwell; her granddaughter, Sadie Roby; step-grandchildren, Michael and Maddy Gurske and Kurstin Cardwell; sisters, Beverly (Arnold) Grant of Owensboro and Debbie (Ellis) Ralph of Whitesville; and brothers, Mike (Donna) Thompson and Joe (Mary) Lee of Owensboro.

The family will receive friends at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory from 3-6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2018.
