Sonja Davis

Sonja "Sunny" Davis, 70, of 8400 Ky. Highway 405, lot #44, Maceo, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at her home. She was born on November 11, 1938 in Blue Island, IL to the late Martin and Gertrude Puckett Scheibling. She was a registered nurse and had worked at Owensboro-Daviess Co. Hospital and Miller's Merry Manor in Rockport. She also worked at Cracker Barrel in the retail store. She was an avid reader, excellent seamstress, enjoyed crocheting, and served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader. Sunny loved life and shared her humor and laughter with all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Smith "Red" Davis in 1993.

Surviving is a son, John Davis and wife Debbie of Owensboro, a daughter, Kelly Peck and husband Dave of Newport News, VA, four grandchildren, Brittney Hidenrite, Bailey Davis, Jessica Davis, and Jarrod Boaz, and her special angels, Martha Hall and Faye Jackson, both of Maceo, and her friend from Hospice, Sheila Krause.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 15, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with private burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 12 Noon Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 723 Harvard Dr., Owensboro, Ky. 42301 or to the Public Library, 2020 Frederica St., Owensboro, Ky. 42301.
