Sister Deborah Lynn Masterman, 74, of Owensboro passed away Monday, March 11, 2024, at Twin Rivers Nursing and Rehab. The St. Paul, Minnesota native was born June 22, 1949, as one of six children to the late Russell and Dorothy Powell Masterman. Deborah graduated from Alexander Ramsey Senior High School and attended the University of Minnesota briefly before being employed by Northwestern Bell. Deborah enjoyed music, especially Elvis Presley, as well as baking and taking her younger brothers to the movies. She loved the old classics like Gone with the Wind, and others. Deborah joined the Sisters of the Lamb of God in 2004 and made her final vows in 2014. She was employed at the Bishop Soenneker Home in Knottsville, Kentucky.
In addition to her parents, Deborah also was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and David Masterman.
Those left to cherish her memory include her siblings, Susan Wirtz of Arden Hills, MN, Andrew Masterman and wife Janice of Lake Elmo, MN, Robin Masterman and wife Jane of Woodbury, MN; sister-in-law, Diane Masterman of Roseville, MN; uncles, Otis Edward Bender (Lynne) of Valley Grande, AL and Russell Hull of Fitzpatrick, AL; aunt, Louise McLaughlin also of Fitzpatrick; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; friend and caregiver, Sister Debra Ann Bailey and her other religious sisters.
The funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Saturday at Immaculate Catholic Church. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 until 7:00 pm with prayers at 6:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 until 9:30 am at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
