Shirley Hendrix Wirth

Shirley Hendrix Wirth, 84, of Owensboro, died Monday, October 12, 2009, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was an only child of the late Raymond and Annabel Thompson Hendrix, born March 26, 1925 in Daviess County. She was involved in Real Estate for 44 years, being one of the first women to be an appraiser, she was an member of the National Association of Realtors, and had been Secretary of the Owensboro Board of Realtors.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Wirth in 1998, and also a son, David Wirth in 1998.

Survivors include her children, Terri Waltrip of Owensboro, Marian "Dukie" Tabor, and her husband, Ed of Owensboro, Larry Wirth and his wife, Ruth of Owensboro, Patti Greenwell, and her husband, Doug of Greenville, SC, and Carol Parker of Owensboro; eight grandchildren, Amy Moldrem, Lesley Waltrip, Gretchen Butler, Eddie Tabor, Brian Greenwell, Wesley Greenwell, Stewart Parker, and Susan Nicole Parker; nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Private services will be Friday with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301.
