Shirley Fay Whistle

Our mother, Shirley Fay Whistle, 89, of Owensboro, has gone to be with the Lord. She left this earth on Thursday April 3, 2025, while at the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born January 28, 1936, in Henderson, KY, to the late Silas Pitman and Lula Mae Wathen Yancey. Shirley loved to read books and enjoyed working crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her seven children, John (Karen) Whistle, Brenda (John) Hall, Delores Franzos, Jackie (Mike) Ross, Jason Whistle, Pamela Shelton, and Tamela Shepherd; eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. All whom she loved and was very proud of.

The funeral service for Shirley will be at 12 p.m. Friday April 11, 2025, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
