Shirley H. Oliver

Shirley H. Oliver, 76, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Hillcrest Healthcare Center. She was born on May 14, 1935 in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Robert Ivo and Loretta Hoskins Hagan. Shirley was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and former member of the Legion of Mary. She was retired from the North American Phillips Company after many years of service. She loved attending mass, saying the rosary, playing cards, U. K. basketball, and spending time with her family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her son, G. Michael Oliver in 2005, and four brothers and sisters, Patsy Ruth Hagan, Joann Jarboe, Wilfrid Hagan, and Robert Hagan.

Surviving are her daughter, Debbie Blandford and husband Tony of Owensboro, eight grandchildren, David A. (Lorraine) Sturgeon of Owensboro, Sara (Jonathan) Hodge of Katy, TX, Christopher D. Blandford of Owensboro, Gregory S. Blandford of Owensboro, Christopher M. Oliver of Owensboro, Jonathan B. Oliver of Owensboro, Jonathon T. (Kannetha) Sturgeon of Owensboro, and Summer N. Oliver of Indianapolis, IN, five great grandchildren, a brother, George A. (Charlotte) Hagan of Owensboro, a sister, Monica (Jim) Payne of Philpot, a daughter-in-law, Teresa Oliver of Indianapolis, a sister-in-law, Janet Hagan of Corbin, and many special nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Services will be 12:30 P.M. Saturday, March 10 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Friday with prayers at 5:30 P.M. and after 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
