Mrs. Shirley Fleming Newcom, 63, of 1750 River Rd, Owensboro, died, Monday, April 30, 2001 at the Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Daviess County native was a member of St Pius Tenth Catholic Church. She was a homemaker, Kentucky Colonel and loved gardening.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Norman J. Newcom; a son, Donnie Newcom of Owensboro; 2 daughters, Connie Voyles and Pam Jackson both of Owensboro; her mother, Marietta Fleming of Owensboro; 6 grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Radcliff of Covington, Austin and Emilee Jackson of Owensboro, and Aaron and Brandon Newcom of Owensboro; 3 brothers, John R. Fleming and Robert B. Fleming of Louisville, and Jessie O. Fleming of Cocoa, FL.; and a sister, Sue Hall of Owensboro.

Funeral services are Wednesday, May 2, 2001 at 1:30 P.M. at St Pius Catholic Church with burial in Redhill Cemetery in Utica. Friends may call Glenn Fuenral Home from 1-8 P.M. Tuesday, May 1 and after 9 A.M., Wednesday, May 2, 2001. Parrish prayers will be at 6 P.m., Tuesady, May 1 at the funeral home.
