Shirley Mae Krewson

Shirley Mae Krewson, 87, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Signature Healthcare---Hillcrest. She was born April 6, 1938 in Daviess County to the late Roy Irvin and Plina Lou Embry Conner. Shirley was a member of Owensboro Christian Church and retired from General Electric. She enjoyed attending Bible study and going on Senior church trips. Shirley loved helping and volunteering at the Wendell Foster Center where her daughter, Paula Payne, is a resident. She also enjoyed going to Nascar races, was an avid U.K. basketball fan, and loved singing to her grandchildren and spending time with them. Shirley was also preceded in death by her husband, James Richard Krewson in 2006 and her brother, Manuel Conner.

Surviving are her children, Paula Payne of Owensboro, Perry Payne of Millington, TN, and Mark Payne (Christie) of Owensboro; two grandchildren, Jessica Johnson (Zach) of Murray and Jacob Payne (Andi) of Knoxville, TN; and two great grandchildren, Drake and Jesse Childress of Murray.

Memorial services will be 2 PM Monday, December 29 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11 AM until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
