Shirley Wemes Knight

Shirley Wemes Knight, 74, of 2920 Yale Place, Owensboro, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2011, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born on March 12, 1936 in Daviess Co., Ky. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, crocheting, knitting, reading, watching old movies, and playing the piano. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur Wemes and Ruth Wemes Frey, and her grandparents, Clarence and Fonnie Wemes.

Surviving are her husband, Gordon Knight, her daughter, Betsey Eli and husband Bob of Owensboro, three grandchildren, Jessie, Zeke, and Katie Eli, all of Owensboro, her brother, Bill and Sherrie Wemes of Owensboro, a half-sister, Mischa Byers of Owensboro, a niece, Joy Wemes and a nephew, Gregg Wemes, both of Owensboro, and two special friends, Carole Adams of Arizona and Shirley Ayers of Louisville.

Services will be 7:00 P.M. Thursday, February 17 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be after 3:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
