Shirley Ann Clark

Shirley Adkisson Clark, 93, of Owensboro died at home on May 28, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Clark, her parents, Lansing and Helen Adkisson and her siblings Fred Adkisson, Sally Fischer and Pat Hawley. She is survived by her children Lansing (Dr. Gabor Vargo), Robin Clark, Carye (Steven Weber) and Chuck (Mary Clark) Also surviving her are her grandchildren Tyler (Laura Clark), Paige Clark, Clark Weber and Alex Clark.

 Shirley loved her family, friends and her Catholic faith. She was a long-time member of Blessed Mother parish and a founding member of Homespun Homemakers. Shirley was friendly, kind and caring. She made everyone around her smile. Shirley was an antique collector and was creative in everything she did. She was also a tremendous bridge player and enjoyed playing her entire life. 

 We would like to thank everyone at One Park Place and Hospice of Western Kentucky who cared for our mother with kindness and compassion. Thank you to her wonderful neighbors on Haywood Ct. who always looked after her. Thank you to her two best friends, Nina and Dana who never wavered in their love for her. Thank you to our hero, Lansing, who dedicated the last three years to our mother’s care.  

 Shirley Adkisson Clark genuinely enjoyed life, was loved dearly and will be missed. We will honor her life with a memorial mass at 10:00 am on June 8 at Blessed Mother Catholic Church followed by a 12:30 pm Open House at the JDQ Building at 2625 Frederica St.
