Sherry Underwood

Sherry Underwood, 82, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday November 1, 2025, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born July 20, 1943, in Daviess County, to the late Chester Hay and Mary Riggs Hill. Sherry was a member of the Owensboro High School class of 1961, and retired from the Western Kentucky Regional Blood Center, where she began working in 1986. She also enjoyed watching TV, listening to music and was an avid reader.

Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Underwood in 1995.

Sherry is survived by a son, Lee Underwood; sister, Dale Gilles; several nieces and nephews; and her furry lap companion, Ace the cat.

The funeral service for Sherry will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Rex Whiteman officiating. Burial to follow in Worthington Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.
