Sherry F. Harris

Sherry F. Harris, 61, of Owensboro, Ky., passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at her home. She was born on June 29, 1949 in Hopkins Co., Ky. She was retired from Fields Packing Co. and had worked at numerous Day Cares and Rest Homes in the Owensboro area. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Sherry loved watching her grandchildren participate in their sporting events. She was preceded in death by her parents Randolph Travis and Billie Abbott.


Surviving are her husband of 32 years, Lanny Harris, four children, Stacy Sholar of Cadiz, Ky., Scotty (Sharon) Sholar, Brandon Harris, and Breanne Harris, all of Owensboro, nine grandsons, one granddaughter, one great granddaughter, and two brothers, Stan Travis of Clarksville, TN and Jeff Abbott of Dawson Springs, Ky.


Services will be 4:00 P.M. Saturday, October 30 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will begin at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

The family has asked that their be no donations of flowers or food, but instead, to please make donations in her grandson's name "Zhauntez Thornton" to help with his medical and travel expense. He is continuing to battle brain cancer, but doing very well. Any donations may be made at any P.N.C. Bank in his name.
