Sherril Lee Smith

Sherril Lee Smitty Smith, of Masonville, died Friday, September 1, 2006, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. He was born July 18, 1942 to the late Wesley and Ora Phegley Smith in Ohio County. He worked at Whirlpool Corporation for 40 years and was a member of Masonville Baptist Church. He was a volunteer fireman, a member of AARP, North American Wildlife Society and enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He built a race car and enjoyed drag racing, working on boats and wood working. He was very proud of his Indian heritage.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Perry, on January 27, 2004.

Survivors include his wife of 14 years and best friend for 22 years, Robin Smith; two daughters, Michelle Shelly Smith Powell and her husband, Robert of Nashville, TN; Sandra Smith of Owensboro; three grandchildren, Jacob Lee Smith, Brittany Conelia Powell and Ashley Darlene Powell; special friends, Richard and Kay Hall and his four legged companion, Sassy Lee; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be 6:00 PM Thursday, at Masonville Baptist Church with visitation after 4:00 PM Thursday at the church. Glenn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
