Sherman Alex Conrad

June 12, 1910 — February 4, 2003

Sherman Alex Eck Conrad, 92, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at the Owensboro Mercy Health System. The McLean County native was a farmer; was retired from the Daviess County Board of Education where he was a bus driver for 24 years ; and Moonlite Bar-B-Que where he worked for 25 years retiring when he was 90 years old. He loved farming and trading. He was a member of the Pleasant Memorial Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Agnes Sparks Conrad in 1976; a son, Billy S. Conrad in 1976; and a daughter, Elizabeth Conrad Reeks in 1993.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Mary Clark Conrad; a daughter, Betty Conrad of Owensboro; a step-son, Tom T.C Clark of Beaver Dam; a step-daughter, Shelia Moore of Ft. Leonard Wood, MO; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bea Henderson of Owensboro.

Funeral services are 10 A.M. Friday, February 7, 2003 at the Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1-8 P.M. Thursday February 6, 2003 and after 8:30 A.M.on Friday.
