Shelva Garmon Bruce

July 9, 1917 — June 7, 2005

S. Garmon Bruce, 87, of 1200 East Byers Ave passed away June 7, 2005 at Hillcrest Nursing Home. Born in Muhlenburg County to the late Shelva and Mary Timmons Bruce, he retired from Chevron Oil Company after 25 years and was a member of First Baptist Church and the Chevron Oil Retirees Association, and had helped establish the Murphy Chair Company. He loved spending time with his family, attending church, and playing golf. His wife, Wilma (Pat) Noffsinger Bruce and two brothers, Estill R. Bruce and Willard Bruce, preceded him in death.

Survivors include a son, Larry G. Bruce and his wife Edna of Owensboro; two grandchildren, Melody Delk and her husband Terry of Owensboro and Keith Bruce of Hendersonville, TN; a great-grandson, Scott Delk of Chicago, Ill; and one brother, Billy F. Bruce of Bryant, Ohio.

Services will be held on Friday, June 10, at 11:00 a.m. in the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and after 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
